Contact lenses, nanofiber materials, plastic surgery, Semtex… All these unique ideas have something in common. They’re all Czech and less than one hundred years old.
The Czechs have research and innovation in their blood and continue helping to accelerate the pace of development. Technological progress became so common to us that we often do not even notice it. And yet these inventions are all around us, either in a form of air-cleaning facade paints, smart textiles developed to monitor vital functions, metal alloy foams for production of safer cars, new pollinators for agriculture or the growing thigh bone endoprosthesis thanks to which, the youngest patients are now able to avoid limb amputation. All beautiful ideas, with great benefits for the society. On to the next 100 years of research and development!
